CERTIFICATION OF REGULATION COMPLIANCE

FCC, CE, and RoHS are the standards to comply and the be certified with our products.

All the EMC, EMI, and Safety test results represent the quality level of our products, However, PLDM TECHNOLOGY provides mainly module products which are not a complete product to pass those tests with certifications. What PLDM TECHNOLOGY will provide is the spectrum of EMI scanning and safety level for references, and after our customers select the housing of the module, PLDM TECHNOLOGY will then collaboratively work with our customers to ensure the spectrum profile and the ESD immunity to meet the national or international standards.

Before the collaborative design started, to predict the Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and safety level of our module products is still doable since PLDM TECHNOLOGY provides DFX for servicing our customers, which involves careful design considerations and testing. Here are some steps and techniques to help you have a scope.

EMI Design Considerations:

We strictly follow intel EMI design guidelines and implement it in PCB layout stage to minimize EMI emissions and susceptibility. Furthermore, proper grounding, signal routing, and component placement are also applied to significantly reduce EMI.

Use EMI filters:

We implement EMI filters on input and output transmission lines to attenuate conducted and radiated EMI.

Shield sensitive components:

We pay serious attention to shielding sensitive components and traces to prevent EMI coupling between different sections of the board.

Proper grounding and PCB stack up:

We design our product with solid and low-impedance ground planes to provide a reference for shortest signal return paths and reduce EMI.

EMI Pre-compliance Testing:

Pre-compliance EMI testing by an EMI spectrum analyzer to perform preliminary EMI testing is conducted, which helps identify and eliminate potential EMI issues in early stage in our design process.

Identify problematic frequencies:

We determine the frequencies at which the product emits EMI and assess potential interference with other devices.

Safety Considerations:

We comply with safety standards in early design phase by identifying the safety standards applicable to our product's intended use and ensure compliance with them.

Use certified components:

We select components with appropriate safety certifications and ratings to maintain safety compliance.

Insulation and creepage distances:

We design appropriate insulation and creepage distances to ensure electrical safety between different parts of the circuit.

Simulation and Modeling:

EMI simulation tools are used during NPI phase, which has successfully simulated EMI behavior in a virtual environment, which help our engineers identify potential issues and optimize the design early in the development process.

Circuit simulations:

We simulate the circuit behavior by CAE tools to identify potential problems related to signal integrity, impedance matching and EMI.

EMI Filters and Components:

We select electronic components with lower EMI emissions, such as low-noise oscillators and filters.

Implement shielding:

With a simple module, although we cannot apply sufficient metal shielding where necessary to prevent EMI emissions and protect sensitive components, but we do the validation with the ABS housing built in copper standoffs and SECC sheet metal structure to do the grounding and shielding.

Compliance Testing:

We conduct EMI compliance pre-test in certified labs, and we will perform EMI pre-test at our module product is fully assembled, and then we obtain the spectrum for preliminary analysis on the specific frequencies where the spikes are outstanding.

Safety certifications:

We submit our module product with housing for safety certification pre-test to certified labs.

IPC Industry has confronted with mass production constraints due to the requirements of scalability and flexibility for meeting variety of market needs yet shaped the nature of the lack of economic scale. EPOS is in a sense considered as one of IPC applications leveraging the same design concepts and major key components, cannot but suffer from higher material cost and lower quality scenario that volume mass-production doesn’t usually agree with.

Along with the fast-growing demands of bill-less payment transactions, fiscal data acquisitions, self-service POS operation, and big data collection under omni-channel retail environments, to have low cost EPOS which provides higher production Cpk, turns out to be a much higher priority of key features of EPOS design and mass-production process. In other words, having common parts and common structure to reach the economic mass-production scale while keep the high scalability of flexibility becomes the major challenge for all EPOS manufacturers to cope with.
Not only survive, but glide over the key challenge, PLDM Technology provides permanent solution from the design, validation, engineering, tooling, quality control, all the way to mass-production, meaning that by partnering with PLDM, your EPOS products will be featured with high quality, low cost, high scalability, and still longevity to well adapt to the demanding market needs.

Culture

We build up the company PLDM by digging into new niches from old business models. Innovation, learning, and the courage to face challenges are what we were founded on, and are deeply embedded in our DNA, from now to the future.

Principle

Our long-term goal is to be the best partner in the industry by being insightful, flexible, and quick to provide the appropriate solutions to our clients, and to be the embodiment of our spirit of service.
